Decorations
Checkered flags black, white, & red balloons. Use your child's toy cars as props on the the table for a centerpiece. If you have an old race car calendar or magazine tear out the pages and hang them on the walls of the party area. Make orange road cones out of poster board or buy some at your local home improvement store.

Bean Bag Toss
Supplies:
Bean bag
Old Tire(s)
Use a tire propped up and have the children take turns tossing the bean bags into the tire. Each bean bag in gets a point.
The Race
Supplies:
Toy Cars
Sidewalk chalk
Dice
Make a start and finish line with the chalk in your drive way or the side walk and draw 10-15 spaces in between (like a big game board). Have each child take a turn rolling a dice and they get to move that many spaces on the track. The first one to reach the finish line wins. Give ribbons or plastic trophies to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
Activities
Using poster board, cut out shapes of cars and have the kids color and decorate their own race cars, you can use stickers, glitter, markers, watercolors, etc.
Find cheap snap together car models and have the kids build them and decorate them for the race game.
Personalized Licence plates can be made using metallic poster board, scrapbook letter stickers, and puffy paint.
Party Favors
Use a red or black lunch bag. Toy cars, car stickers, candy.
