Invitation
On off-white paper use your computer printer to print the party information and a map to your house. Use 1/2 of a full sheet of paper for each invite. Roll the paper and place in a plastic bottle that you can buy at a craft store. Hand deliver the invites, or place in a mailing tube to be mailed.

Decorations
Black, white, silver or gold balloons and crepe paper. If you have any skeleton or skulls from Halloween you can use these to place around the house.

Put a treasure chest on the table for a centerpiece, you can either make this out of box by cutting a regular box in half horizontally and decorating it to look like a chest or buy one.
Use Brown sugar or gram cracker crumbs to lay the chest on for a sandy effect, if you have a table that will not have food on it you can also use real sand. Lay some fake gold coins, beaded necklaces and other toy jewelry out of the treasure chest to complete the centerpiece.

Make flags with skulls and cross bones to place in the party area.

Games

Sunken Treasure

Supplies:
Large shallow plastic container
Sand
Water
Tongs
Coins or plastic toys (25 or more pieces)
Net or small plastic container to put the found objects in
Timer

Fill a shallow plastic container at least 2 1/2 feet long with enough sand to cover the bottom and water. Place small plastic toys into the sand or you can use coins. Each player gets a turn to see how many toys or coins he can retrieve using tongs, this is their hooked hand, in a certain time period (1-2mins). After each turn the objects are counted and thrown back into the sand. The toys do all have to be completely covered in the sand. The winner is the one who has collected the most treasures. For a variation of this game use a blind fold for older children or younger children can use their hands instead of tongs.

Cannon Ball Toss

Supplies:
Black Water Balloons (1 for each 2 children)
Water
Even amount of players (if there's an odd number have and adult be one child's partner

This is played like a water balloon toss. Children pair up and stand across from each other in a straight line. The side who starts off with the balloons passes it to their partner when the host tells them to and then takes one step back. After the first time the children will have to toss it to their partner taking a step back each time and if their balloon pops both team members are out. The team left without popping their balloon wins.

Scavenger Hunt

Supplies:
Small objects (crayons, plastic ware, etc.)
Paper
Timer

This Scavenger Hunt can be played in your backyard or in the house. Once you collected several objects from around the house (about 3 per child) divide the items into two or three piles. Make one list for each pile of objects.

Before the game hide all the objects, but in view in the area you will be playing in. Divide the children in groups of however many piles you had and give each group a list of the items to find. The children will work together to find the objects on their list within a certain time limit, the more items you have the longer it can take. Each team will get one point for each item found on their list. If they picked up something that was not on the list they lose 2 points (something from another list). To make the game more challenging you can have things on the list such as toy car with wheel missing, but have more than one toy car out there, or a 1992 Quarter.
