What about swimming? Or maybe a clay party? Around our area they have awesome places to go do clay.
Also maybe a scientist party, what kinds of things does he like? OH or Mini Golf, my daughter LOVES mini golf! _________________ Jenn, Co-owner of High Top Baby Designs and Parenting Advice Blog |

Michelle - do they have any local kids museums in the area? I know the one's around here end up being pretty reasonable cost wise for parties.
Also we had my 3 year old's party at a place called Pump it up Party. It's an indoor jumping place. They have the big infatable slides, etc. they might have one near you. http://www.pumpitupparty.com/
It's great because all ages enjoy it, even the parents.
Other places she can probably check into would be:
Movie Theatres if there's any good kids movies coming out, some have a party area to have cake and ice cream too.
Roller or Ice Skating
mini golf

Thanks everyone,
I talked to her last night and they actually decided on bowling again this year, that is what my nephew says he wants.

One of my favorite Birthday Parties for my son was a flashback party. We mad paper hats - decorated with streamers - got out the twister and invited the kids over. It was a blast.

I have heard of people having b-day parties at pizza places and arranging it ahead of time with the manager or owner. The kids actually can take a tour and make pizza. It would be cute to get aprons and chefs hats as party favors too. You could go to a dollar store and get rubber spatulas and either write on them or add a tag for the invitations. I love planning birthday parties. I do offer Stuff a Friend B-day packages too. They can be a little pricey but there is 20% off some items in March, I think.
I think that the theme is what makes the party not the location. _________________ Fawn Volkert

Touring a Pizza parlor and making your own pizza sounds fun, especially for older kids who outgrew all the indoor party jumping/chuck e cheese type places. _________________
